The Chateau was originally built in 1301. The North tower is still standing as well as the ground floor. The South tower is from the 17th c. and the 2nd and 3rd floors were added in the 18th century.
The chateau has been restored with new plumbing, electricity and partial hot water/radiator heating plentiful hot water for 14 bathrooms, appropriate to the period decoration, fully equipped kitchen and has a new slate roof from 2003 after the storm of the century.
It is in a great location in the Charente Maritime, South of the Loire & North of Bordeaux. It is 2 3/4 hours by the TGV South West of Paris, or by car 4 hours on the A10 & 12 Miles From The Atlantic
